Please donate to help us protect this important and iconic part of Glastonbury’s story.

The ruins of the old mill in Cotton Hollow are an iconic landmark for hikers and history lovers alike, but we need your help to ensure that the mill walls are preserved and maintained for future generations. We are asking for your tax deductible donation to:

Although the last of the mill businesses closed many years ago, visitors hiking through the Cotton Hollow open space have been enjoying the beauty and the sight of the towering mill walls greeting them across the tumbling waters of the Roaring Brook.

The Land Heritage Coalition, in partnership with the Save Cotton Hollow Mill Coalition, the Historical Society of Glastonbury and the Town of Glastonbury are working to preserve and protect the mill walls so that they remain as a beautiful inspiration for all who pass through the area.

Help us to ensure that this important part of Glastonbury’s history is preserved for the next generation by making a donation by mail or online to support our efforts.

A stunning link to our industrial history is under threat.

What is Cotton Hollow Mill?

The ruins at Cotton Hollow date back to as early as 1814. For more than a century the mill building was used to process raw cotton into cloth and later into house supplies for a nearby paper mill. At its height, Cotton Hollow was an extensive manufacturing center that employed hundreds of people and had its own village.

With just a short hike you can experience history for yourself. Foundations and walls of the village remain. Punctuated by the breathtaking five story mill wall that we need you to help save.
